Mechanical Wear Test:
In place of a seal we used a bi-metal saw blade with a 1 lb force riding on the sleeve Spinning at 625 RPM!
 
Result:

The plain sleeve without protective hard chrome wore through in 1 minute.

The same test on our sleeve was discontinued after 1 1/2 hours (yes hours) without cutting through the hard chrome coating!
